The Classes
MUSIC DISCOVERY
Students will learn Music Fundamentals such as rhythm, ear training, singing, and dynamics through fun and engaging activities:
Creating Instruments via Arts and Crafts
Rhythm Games
Fun Sing-Alongs, and More!
MINDFUL MUSIC
In this class, Music Therapy and Science-Based exercises are combined to create engaging, physical activities proven to enhance a student’s mental awareness and development in the following areas:
Physical & Social
Emotional & Cognitive
Language & Literacy
Little Unison consists of 2 alternating classes designed to prepare our little musicians for the world of music and their academic future. Studies, like the Dana Consortium’s “Learning, Arts, and the Brain”, confirm the correlation between students studying the arts at a young age and higher cognition! For Unison, the clearest study to show the long-term benefits are the SAT scores provided by the Texas Music Educators Association. Since tracking began in 2011, the scores consistently show that Texas All-Staters, high-school music students, scored higher than the national and state average of non-music students!
We wish to bring this excellence to Hill Country Toddlers. Our instructors for both classes each have their state certification in music education, years of experience teaching at the elementary level, and are passionate about Unison’s endeavor to give back to the community.
