Wakiyan Goulet started his musical journey in 2013 playing the trumpet in intermediate school. During eighth grade, Wakiyan switched from the trumpet to the guitar. During high school, Wakiyan was also a student at School of Rock in The Woodlands, Texas, taking guitar lessons and performing in cover bands. After graduating from high school and completing an Associate of Arts from Lone Star College, Wakiyan became an undergraduate music major at San Antonio College in 2022, taking classical guitar lessons while performing in a guitar ensemble and a guitar chamber quartet. The San Antonio College guitar chamber quartet Wakiyan was performing in was the second-place winner of the College Quartet Division of the 2023 Hill Country Classical Guitar Ensemble Festival and Competition, hosted by Texas State University. Wakiyan is also a winner of the National 2023 Jack Stone Award for New Music. During the Fall of 2023, Wakiyan transferred to the University of the Incarnate Word, taking electric guitar lessons primarily focusing on jazz guitar, while completing a Bachelor of Music in Composition, which he did in 2026 with cum laude. Wakiyan also has an original song released on streaming platforms such as Spotify called "Virus-Infected High School Graduation.”
